From Euan McLeod All Saints Hunters Hill FC President and Legend!

“There is a lot of excitement growing in the ASHHFC ranks as the dream of returning to game day football becomes a reality. I am particularly looking forwarded to seeing the orange of All Saints about town this weekend!
In a time of great uncertainty due to COVID there have already been some great achievements in the footballing world with recent confirmation that Australia and New Zealand will be hosting the Women’s FIFA World Cup in 2023 and confirmation of Liverpool FC, after a 30 year wait, as champions of the EPL. There are many passionate Liverpool fans in our club and none more so than our former President and friend Paul Manton.
To get to the starting line has been no mean feet with a significant amount of work being undertaken behind the scenes by a number of parties. Special thanks go out to:
Your Committee/Volunteers –
Michael Clayton and Suzanne McGirr – Registrars for both the Mixed and Women’s competition who have gone above and beyond to finalise the registration in the COVID environment, handling refunds in a compassionate and efficient manner and ensuring we have teams ready to be on the field this weekend.
Renee Paton – For stepping up on the Women’s side of the club to help with the Juniors. In a period where the women’s game is growing Renee’s assistance is greatly appreciated and with the great news that Australia and New Zealand will be hosting the World Cup in 2023 an area where we expect to see continued growth.
Paul Williamson – Awesome job in organising the Juniors and helping to ensure that we could get our skills training up and running again in the COVID environment with a plan that has worked tremendously.
Peter Steel – Continuing to do a great job with wrangling the seniors of the club and helping to ensure they are graded correctly and are all kitted out appropriately.
Clair Williamson/Jim Likidis/Eric Li (Age Group Managers)– These guys have the unenviable task of trying to make sure we have even numbered teams taking to the field in each age group. This has proven even more challenging this year with the number of withdrawals at different stages of the COVID outbreak.
To all the other committee members for the numerous meetings and late night chats to ensure we got to this weekend in good shape.
Hunters Hill Council – The Council have worked closely with the club to ensure we get you back on the field as safely as possible. In addition to this, the council are waiving ground hire for the rest of the 2020 winter season which will help the club out significantly in these COVID impacted times.
North West Sydney Football (NWSF) – Quite a first season for NWSF since the amalgamation. The staff in the office from Mark, Nikki and Jo have done an amazing job to get us to the starting line. With the moving components as a result of COVID they have kept us informed about options available and have landed on a great solution to ensure we get the maximum out of the season.
I also thought this would be an appropriate time to give you an update on the club and some of the key areas of focus.
Gladesville Reserve Redevelopment – we are continuing to work with the Hunters Hill Council to progress this, with the Plan of Management process about to begin. This will consider the wider Gladesville Reserve needs and encourages community consultation to ensure preservation of the natural environment, balances the concerns of interest groups and establish priorities for improvements. We have a seat at the table and continue to work hard on the right outcome for the club and the community. We hope to be able to share with you some of our ideas for redevelopment soon.
Sponsors – We are very lucky to continue to be sponsored by Ward Partners, Hunters Hill Orthodontics, Hunters Hill Hotel and EastWest Physiotherapy. All our sponsors have been impacted by COVID and we will be doing our best to ensure we support them throughout the coming months wherever we can.
Skills Training – Our new skills training partner, ASR Academy continues to help us develop our younger members. Feedback continues to be positive and we have added a school holiday camp for the first time. This we hope will help develop the relationship further and ensure continued growth for our club.
So, as we finally reach the start of the 2020 season, whether it be your first season or 40th season with the club, I ask that you respect the referees, play the game in the spirit that it is intended and enjoy!

Go All Saints!

Euan
